TRIZ TRAINING Overview: The immense breadth and depth of the TRIZ methodology poses a daunting task to aspiring TRIZ hopefuls. The unsuspecting TRIZnik faces a tsunami of mostly disjointed tools, comprising 76 Standards, a Contradiction Matrix consisting 39 System Attributes/40 Inventive Principles, and 30 plus Trends of Evolution, with many of the before mentioned having numerous subcategories and overlapping duplications. In addition, TRIZ employs in multiple combinations, other tools like Value Analyses (Su-Field modeling), Separation Principles, ARIZ (Algorithm for Inventive Problem Solving), IFR (Ideal Final Result), the Ideal Machine concept, and a physical effects database of more than 8,000 cross-industry examples. And if all else fails, TRIZniks can turn to the ‘smart little people’ concepts for help. Fast Track, self-teach TRIZ: By working with the Product Development Management Association, PDMA, and with input from certified TRIZ masters, a fast track, self-teach, simplified TRIZ course was developed (See Chapter 1 of PDMA Toolbook3). This course provides an integrated methodology that employs all of the above tools by first introducing each conceptually, and then by applying each tool again to the same complex, technological system. ‘One-Look’ TRIZ Placemat: ( Click here to see ) For additional simplification and convenience, the above integrated methodology has been summarized on a single placemat that provides the ‘big picture’ inter- relationship and sequence for use of all TRIZ tools. All tools are visible at the same time, and no longer hidden from view behind pages of a book or in the ‘bowels’ of a computer. For increased user friendliness, pictorial aids are used for quick communication of concepts. Each TRIZ tools is first described conceptually and then again by applying it (and all the other tools) to the same technological system, a vacuum cleaner. Thus the whole problem solving roadmap is visible from problem identification, through diagnosis, to final transformation into a world class product or process..
